Scope and Content

The collection contains correspondence, records, publicity materials, event listings, programs and scripts from the Theatre Program.  The collection consists of materials from 1929 to the present; however, material pertaining to each year is minimal.  The collection is small with expected additions in the future.  In the collection are items such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, scripts, and an extensive collection of programs that relate to the Theatre Program generally.  There are also more specific items such as reports, proposals, correspondence, programs, and scripts from particular theatre activities including: Children’s Theatre, Frances Ann Cannon Workshop Theatre, the Lunchbox Theatre, Painters Theatre, and Wagon Theatre.  Folders are arranged alphabetically by folder title.

Posters have been removed from Children’s Theatre, Frances Ann Cannon Workshop Theatre, and Wagon Theatre and have been placed in the Oversized Collection, drawer 6, folder 17.  A scrapbook documenting the Wagon Theatre was removed, dissembled, and photocopied.  A copy of all materials are in the folder entitled “Wagon Theatre – Scrapbook (photocopy)” and remaining original materials were placed in a separate folder.  Photographs from the scrapbook were removed and housed in the Photograph Collection.
