Use of Web Sites for Teaching

1. Faculty Home Pages:

A number of faculty have personal teaching sites: A number of these have been produced with the help of two wonderful web aides - Shuba Gopal, who graduated last year, and Rebecca Asch, the excellent current faculty web guide that I mentioned in my memo announcing this workshop.

Rebecca (rasch@mail.slc.edu) will meet individually with faculty to set up pages. She can do all kinds of great work for you. For example, she's currently working on an SLC Psychology home page. When it's done, each psychology faculty member who wants one will have a home page, similar in some ways my current page. You can have her design a home page for you along these lines, that strive for some consistency with the new SLC home site. You can send Rebecca text via email and ask her to generate web pages from the text. For the images, she can use professional photographs on file at Public Affairs, scan in one of your favorite pictures, or bring her electronic camera and capture your likeness on the spot.
