6. Sharing Text
If student papers are put into web format,
everyone in the class can have access to them. I've been pleased with students'
responses to this assignment. This work was in the context of classes where
learning web techniques was required, but we could generate a system for
this task to be performed by student web aides.
Examples:
There are other occassions where we want students to share text. Mary Porter has a good recent
example of
an interview transcript that she made available to her life history class.
I've had students enter in text data for
an experimental assignment, so that they can
collate and analyze the responses of everyone in the class. This is one of my favorite
assignments and sharing the responses was a major challenge pre-Web.
