and explanations of basic concepts for Perception students. You should
spend a while investigating this nicely produced Web book.
The Eye
Sensation and Perception Tutorial
- John Krantz at Hanover College prepared this clear and helpful tutorial
for Perception students. Concentrate on the receptive fields tutorial.
Lateral Inhibition and Chest Radiographs
- An applied example of the need to understand the effect of lateral inhibition in the perception of lightness. Researchers at Central Middlesex Hospital Department of Imaging, UK, make the argument that grey shades are less visible in chest radiographs if they do not occur at a boundary or edge.
