What this site is about

I will be posting short reports to this website about a new phase of my long-term research and fieldwork in Asia. As I undertake the research, plan and participate in meetings with various people, visit field sites in China, India, Nepal, and Japan, write and speak about the subjects being investigated, and ponder and act upon related questions and issues, I will intermittently post entries to the accompanying blog.
