Posting to MySLC LMS Discussion Boards
This is a guide for students to posting in the Discussion Board on MySLC.

Log in to MySLC with your ID number and password. If you do not know your password, enter your ID number with no password and click Login. There will then be the option to click to have your password emailed to you.
Click the course you would like to view the discussion board for under My Courses in the left hand navigation. If there are no courses under your Quick Links, use these instructions to search for your course.

You will land on the course’s Syllabus page. Click Discussion in the left hand navigation to go to the discussion board.

On the Discussion page, you will see a list of topics. Click a topic’s title to add a post to it.

When viewing the topic, click Add a Thread to post to that topic.

Enter the post’s subject, message, and optionally an attachment. You may make use of the formatting tools above the Message window and/or the spell check button (marked ABC). You may check or uncheck the “Show My Photo” checkbox; if checked your teacher will be able to see your photo next to your post. Your fellow students will not be able to see your photo if either checked or unchecked. Click Save once you are satisfied with the post, or Preview and then Save to double check it.

Once you have posted you will see your message in the list of threads. Click any thread title to view posts in that thread.

To reply to a fellow student’s post, click the thread title (above) then the Reply link.
