Undergraduate Student Accounts
Issuance of Computer Accounts
All members of the Sarah Lawrence College student body are provided with accounts on the mail server and academic network. Services associated with these accounts include electronic mail, file storage space on the network, and remote access to electronic library resources.
Termination of Computer Accounts
We are pleased to announce that starting with the class of 2007, graduating students’ accounts will be included as part of the Gmail implementation and will be available for you to use as long as you wish.
Students may retain their network privileges (including web accounts, file storage space, and off-campus access to library resources) until May 31st of the academic year in which they graduate. An alert will be sent via email regarding the removal of network privileges, at which time graduating students are responsible for ensuring that data have been safely transferred to another medium. Members of the Help Desk are available to assist with that process.
On May 31st all material will be deleted from the H: drives of graduates. When backing up data from the H: drive, Academic Computing and the Help Desk recommends the use of Gryphon Mail, burning data to CD or copying files to a memory stick. Students may access their H: drives from off campus using FTP.
