Wireless Access Request Form

In order to access the campus wireless network, this form must be filled out and submitted. You will need your computer (or simply your MAC Address). Within about 24 hours you will be added to our database, and your computer will automatically detect the wireless network, named "SLC WLAN."


Everyone must use a valid email address (preferably an email address affiliated with your institution. Sarah Lawrence community members must use @slc.edu or @sarahlawrence.edu)

What is a MAC Address and how do I find it?

Windows Users:

  1. Go to the Start menu.
  2. Windows XP: Choose "Run."
    Windows Vista: Choose "Start Search"
  3. In the box that appears, type cmd
  4. A black box will pop up. In it, type ipconfig /all
  5. In the box will appear information about the different network cards installed in your computer. Look for the information that appears under "Wireless Network Connection."
  6. Enter the information in the "Physical Address" field as the Physical (MAC) Address above. It should be a series of 6 pairs of two characters (numbers 0-9 and letters a-f only), seperated by dashes or colons.

Mac Users:

  1. Go to the Apple menu, and choose "System Preferences."
  2. Under "Internet & Network," click "Network."
  3. From the drop-down "Show" menu, select "Airport"
  4. OSX 10.5 users, click Advanced.
  5. Enter the "Airport ID" number as the Physical (MAC) Address above. It should be a series of 6 pairs of two characters (numbers 0-9 and letters a-f only), seperated by dashes or colons.
  • iPhone/iPod Touch users: Tap Settings > General > About then scroll down to Wi-Fi Address
